Currently reading Anxious People again. I love love contemporary as it mirrors today's time. But just like you I still think that classics are classics for a reason. I'm definitely going to be reading more contemporary literature from now on, and also, am definitely going to re-read Anxious People.
I'm glad you're liking the genre!! Personally, I'm a huge fan of Fredrik Backman's work. His trilogy Beartown is particularly special.
I'm noticing that quite a few people with taste similar to mine seem to enjoy his works, so I'll definitely be checking them out
