I love this and agree desperately! While traveling is something that entrances me & I will try to do as much as I can, it's not realistic or financially possible for me to travel all the time. Reading is a wonderful way of exploring not only places but different worlds, feelings, people, and life problems.

Yes, and it might be a me thing, but I can definitely be at a place physically without really connecting to it, while I can't read stuff without actually connecting to it (as long as it's not physics), which is possibly also another reason I am not that interested in travelling. Or even when I do want to, it's generally associated with something I already hold valuable for some reason (like I want to someday visit the Brontë parsonage museum)

I totally agree that reading is seeing the world but I also want to experience things firsthand. If anything, reading fuels my desire to travel. I want to go to every place I read about but I know it’s not possible but I am content.

Haha yes, I think it's a matter of mindset, it becomes very apparent when I have these conversations with my brother. But I do think I'm way too lazy (and broke) 😂

I love this. It’s so true. As I get older and the realisation dawns that I can never see, go, do everything this life has offer, I was initially saddened. Then I remembered that I am a reader and that “I have lived a thousand lives” ❤️📚

I spent my twenties pretty much always focusing on the limitations of life and thinking about all the things I'll never get to do, I'll turn thirty this year and am trying to convince myself to open up to the little joys of life a bit more. The first step of that of course is reading as many, and whatever books I want to read because to me that's the best way of enjoying life.

I agree with you! Reading is only one of the ways we can see, take in, and experience the world. I personally both love to travel and to read, but can only travel so much and read so much.

Yes, I think travelling is a lot more energy consuming in general, but the people who love to travel generally enjoy that. I personally don't and also, I don't have that kind of money 😂
